The 2021 Weekend Away saw the society head to St Pierre, Wales.

It was great to get there after lockdown prevented us last year.

The resort has two courses. The Championship Old and the Mathern Courses. I preferred the Championship which we played on Saturday and Monday. The Mathern had just too many ditches all over the place.

Martin seemed to like the Mathern though, as he scored his 4th (!) Hole-in-One on there!

The weather was good for the Saturday and Monday, but rained for most of the Sunday round.

Phil Q took the honours on the Saturday warm-up, with Lee taking the Sunday Teng Tools and Alan E taking the Seniors. The Monday saw Phil Q return to form to win the Chairmans Shield.

As I had raised the thorny subject of planning for the football on Sunday and giving Martin more work, he decided that I should wear the pretty pink golf skirt that he was awarded two years ago. This I did for the whole first hole on the Sunday..setting the precedence for next year. Photos attached. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t let me play off the red tees. Perhaps I should have kept the skirt on. I got a steady 2 points on the first hole with it, then my scoring went down hill.

A final mention to Kev and Graham B, who put together a fine collection of 6 NP/NP2’s between them. Graham also sported some interesting trousers for the “Sunny” Monday round.
