The amazing run of dry weather had to end at some point. It was a shame it chose our golf day to do it.

It pretty much rained from first tee to last, with some of the greens beginning to look more like lakes.

I hit a wayward shot early on in the round and managed to land it right under the grounds staff’s tractor (see picture). At least it was dry under there!

There were understandably some poor scores out there. My 19 points was only just saved by Captain Julie’s 16 points!

But, there was also some decent scores as well. Congratulations to JC, who came in first with 34 points. Impressive given the conditions. The next best were Graham R and Mark A on 32 points.

Let’s hope for a return to better weather for the next outing. My golf bag may have dried out by then.
