A great weekend was had by all. Despite the best efforts of MacDonald Hill Valley to ruin it for us!

The competitions ran smoothly, the putting competition was outstanding and I even managed one decent round of golf.

Some highlights:

  • Paul M winning “like a bandit” on the first day. So he had to play the second day with a stick on moustache. It either made him look like Mario or a Dictator.
  • Danny G won the putting competition. I know, I’m as surprised as you. Perhaps he needs to place a bottle of Whiskey behind every hole when putting.
  • Alan E was awarded the Pink Skirt again. I’m sure he just makes up excuses to get it each time. Something about problems with flights this year apparently.
  • Mark A hit his ball on a practice swing…oops.
  • Lee apparently went to address his ball and then realised that it was actually another 15ft away from him
  • I got into a conversation with “Nice” Graham J about his time coaching rugby. Blimey, don’t mess with Graham!
  • Danny G was apparently having some trouble with his driver on the last round. But he got a decent shot away and went to follow it up with a Fairway Wood. He then managed to hit the Black and White marker pole square on and the ball came flying back.

On to the competitions.

  • Congratulations to Paul M for winning the Saturday with 35 points, just ahead of Graham R with 33 points.
  • On the Sunday, Simon C won the Teng Tools with 35 points and Graham R won the Seniors Trophy with 36 points.
  • On the Monday, JC won the Chairmans Shield with 33 points (beating me and Jon T on count back). Well done to the People’s Champion (Two years running)
  • But it was Graham R’s weekend, as he won the combined 30th Anniversary Roger Nicholls Trophy and the NGS 10th Anniversary Trophy.

Lee – Please feel free to let me know if I’ve got any of these wrong!

In the gallery you will find some photos of the weekend.

There is one of Graham R being presented his Green Jacket by Captain Julie R. As it seemed a little on the big side I asked ChatGPT to see what it could do about making it fit better. The results are a little random but quite entertaining. Take a good look at the logos and signage for a starter!
