The society’s first trip back to Brampton Heath for over 10 years.

A very cold frosty morning meant a little fun with solid bounces. That improved somewhat as the sun started to take effect. Although, it was hard to see where you were going at times!

We played the 2nd nine first, which meant that there were plenty of scorecards with corrections on them (me included). In fact, I was playing a singles match, so I had two cards to fill out. One the right way and one the wrong (doh!)

The course is having some substantial work done on it at the moment. The 3rd hole shouldn’t really have been in play. The green was a temporary hole in the fairway, you played over muddy earthworks and diggers were working alongside the hole! I was impressed by the “tree spade” digger that was digging out and lifting mature trees.

Congratulations to Pete J who came first with a fine 35 points.

Congratulations also to the Singles Comp winners : Tony I, Andrew J & Merv S.
