• All other minor prizes were drawn on the night and were either collected or will be delivered.

After all the hot weather, it was looking increasingly likely that this year’s Charity Day was going to be a wash out with Thunderstorms forecast.

Thankfully, we suffered just a few showers over the afternoon and the big rain didn’t start until we were happily in the clubhouse carrying out the typical review of our rounds over a pint.

As always, we were playing in 3 different competitions : Pairs, Team and Yellow Ball.

The scorecard as ever was a test of my maths skills (well I normally let the computers do this stuff…).

The yellow ball competition had a wide range of scores, with 3 teams scoring nothing and the winners scoring 35 points! Congratulations to Dan/John/Simon/Chris.

That 4 ball also won the Team Competition with 87 points and John & Chris went on to win the Pairs as well.

Our Captain Graham won the longest drive on the 10th. An impressive hit considering you have to use a Wooden Driver which you have to hit just right.

On to the evening. Stoneleigh did an excellent job of hosting us, and the meal was followed by a healthy fund raising session of Auction Items. This was then followed by the drawing of the raffle.
