As we sat in the upstairs bar at Droitwich watching some intrepid golfers braving the rain, we really hoped that the weather forecast was actually going to be right. As if by magic, soon after our first tee the drizzle gave up and we ended up with a dry day with even some sunshine.
Considering the summer we’ve just had, the course was in excellent condition.
This was the one medal (strokeplay) event of the NGS Calendar and not normally one I do well in. However, somehow the “cheating” at the driving range the day before seemed to work.
The best score of the day was from Jason H. Unfortunately, he hadn’t renewed his membership, so he was a guest and out of the trophies.
That left myself to win the Masters, beating John D into second place. Martin B won the Rabbits from Gary G.
I’m not going to try and explain how players are divided between Masters and Rabbits. You can ask Lee next you see him!
