I’m back to playing golf, so more than just a couple of words this month!

Overstone is always an enjoyable course and it was in fine condition. It was also the annual Vice-Captains Trophy competition and Tony was very generous with the additional prizes. It meant that there were a lot of extra prizes up for grabs.

I had a weird experience on the 9th, where my drive hit the tall tree on the ridge. When we got up there to look for it, we couldn’t find it. As we walked forward, hoping to find where it had gone…it fell out of the tree and landed behind David C !

With luck like that, it’s probably no surprise that I picked up some of the minor prizes for the day, but I didn’t trouble the front runners.

Congratulations to Dave D, who finished with an impressive 40 points. With Andrew J & Andrew B coming close with 38 points.

The final of the Singles Competition was also played, which was a very close run thing. It sadly needed to be settled on count back, which saw JC beating Tony I by the narrowest of margins. Well done JC!
