A return for the society to Delapre, which we haven’t been to for a number of years.

I was a little worried when I saw the artificial tees as they are normally terrible. However, they worked very well, with every tee box being level and you were able to place your tee wherever you wanted to. They were a little unfair on the Ladies as they had to use the same one as the Men, giving them no advantage. However, a couple of the longer holes were Par 5’s instead of Par 4’s for them.

With the rain at the weekend, there was quite a bit of mud. However, it was confined mainly around the tee boxes, leaving the fairways and greens very playable.

There were some good results on the day, with 12 out of the 25 golfers returning 30 or more stableford points. I though I might stand a chance with 35, but that only got me 4th. Congratulations to Dave H who came first on count back with 36 points, pipping David H and Dave P.

A good result for us Dave’s with a clean sweep of the top 4 places!

An excellent day and I think it’s quite likely that we will be back next year.
