The weather wasn’t looking favourable for the society’s first trip to Melton Mowbray. However, we were very lucky and the weather stayed favourable. JD didn’t have quite so much luck (see photo right), with one of his shots lodging itself in the foilage.

The course was in excellent condition and the welcome was warm from the staff and members.

On to the golf, Medal is always tricky. Congratulations to Pete S who won with 70.

No visit to Melton Mowbray would be complete without Pies, so each of the winners were awarded with a locally produced Pork Pie.

Finally, but certainly not least, congratulations to Julie R, who managed a Hole-In-One on the 16th. A lovely way to complete a round which saw her playing off a Ladies 1st Tee that is actually longer than the men’s!

A great day had by all, and I think the society will be back for more next year.
